Jonathan Peters
Senior Pastor
Jonathan Peters has served as Senior Pastor since 1998. A native of Chicago, Jonathan came to Christ as a student at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Sheila have four children: Christopher and his wife Katie, Jordan and her husband Kyle, Micah, and Eden. Jonathan and Sheila have also recently entered into the blissful world of grandparenting with their grandson Jackson.
Brian Theurer
Associate Pastor of Students and Families
Brian was raised in Greenfield, Indiana. He came to Christ as a Freshman in college. As he began his career after school, he felt a calling to attend seminary to further his education and serve in ministry. Brian is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and has served as an associate pastor since, joining FBC Columbia in 2022. He and his wife, Natalie, have been married since 2014, and have a son, Josiah.
Jenny Auld
Director of Preschool and Children
Jenny is a native of Pinckneyville, Illinois, and long-time resident of St. Charles. She came to Christ as a child and loves serving the kids at FBCC! She is a graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. In October of 2017, Jenny doubled the size of her family when she adopted Evy Lu from China.
Derick Mickan
Associate Pastor of Worship
Derick is originally from Bismarck, Missouri. He’s a proud deacons kid who felt the call to ministry at a very young age and has followed God’s calling for his life ever since. He and his wife Cindy have had the opportunity to serve the local church for 18+ years in Missouri, Oklahoma, and now Illinois to which he joined our ministry staff in November 2023. He and Cindy have two kids, Lane, who serves in the USAF and is currently stationed in England with his wife Danielle and their son Finnegan, and Madison Grace, who is finishing up her Bachelor’s of Nursing degree at Missouri State University.
