At FBC Columbia, we recognize the great commission was a mandate given to all followers of Christ with the specific vision for missions illustrated in Acts 1:8; to share the gospel in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth.

Our commitment to missions is rooted in the fact that God desires for us to show His love to the world.  We partner regularly with our church family, local association, and International Mission Board to see the truth of the gospel reach our community and the world.

First Baptist Church Columbia mission projects focus on involving the entire church body in mission participation regardless of age, sex, social status, or physical ability.  God sends all ages.

FBC financially and prayerfully supports mission opportunities that coincide with our mission goals. We encourage you to get to know our Mission Partnerships and find out what God is doing around the world.

Baptist Children’s Home – A children’s home in Carmi, IL where children that have been abused, abandoned, neglected, or are in crisis are ministered to. Besides prayer and financial support we do projects for the home as a church mission. Visit www.bchfs.com for more information.

Christian Activity Center – We support the CAC in East St. Louis and their work ministering to the men, women, and children there. Our students visit and assist on a monthly basis and our church participates in the a number of the projects that happen every year (Christmas, fund raising, etc). Life Network of Southern IL – Pregnancy center located in Waterloo which aids young women/families in choosing life and spreading the Gospel. Our students have used the resources to educate and equip them to deal with the pressures of life. For more information, visit www.lovingtouchprc.org.

MARC-Alaska – FBC supports Missionary Aviation Repair Center in Alaska. MARC supports the spread of the Gospel by flying into remote area’s to lost people. Air access is the only way for missionaries to provide supplies, medical needs, and sharing the Gospel. The family we support is Tom and Wendee Turner and their children.
